ABOUT THE FOUNDER
Marin Elise Brown is the visionary founder of Saving Our Lives Ourselves (S.O.L.O.), an organization rooted in compassion, empowerment, and social responsibility. A free spirit with a deep commitment to service, Marin founded S.O.L.O. at just 16 years old during a deeply turbulent moment in this country. That experience profoundly impacted her and became a catalyst for action—transforming grief, concern, and urgency into purpose-driven leadership.
From its inception, S.O.L.O. was created to educate, uplift, and empower youth and young adults during times of uncertainty and injustice. Marin recognized early on that too many voices go unheard and too many young people lack access to the tools, resources, and support needed to thrive. Her vision centers on bringing unity, light, and hope to those often unseen, ensuring that every individual has the opportunity to be valued, supported, and equipped to succeed.
Now at just 21 years old, Marin continues to redefine what leadership looks like. She is the youngest person ever admitted to a doctoral program at the college she attends—an extraordinary achievement that reflects her intellect, discipline, and unwavering commitment to change-making. Marin leads with both heart and mind, blending academic excellence with authentic community engagement.
Marin Elise Brown is not just a founder—she is a change maker, a servant leader, and a powerful example of what is possible when compassion meets courage.
